Since 2017, Chip has served as the CEO of Lumagenics, LLC guiding the company through the early-stage challenges to now prepare for commercialization. Under his leadership, the company has proven clinical efficacy through extensive independent testing, presented scientific papers, developed product designs, and engineering prototypes, and finalized a radical new approach to UV disinfection.
Chip has decades of experience leading teams, executing large-scale partnerships, and creating value across healthcare including pharma, biotech, and medical devices In June 2020, Chip acquired the assets of Lumagenics, LLC and formed Lumagenics, Inc. to accelerate the push to market towards a commercial-ready UV disinfection device that can help address the current COVID pandemic.
Previously, he created ValueGen Partners. The company builds on his extensive experience and the global network of premier professionals he assembled during his career to deliver strategic solutions to today’s difficult development and commercialization challenges.
Prior to that, Chip was the Global Vice President and Head of Client Solutions at Quintiles, where he led a team that worked with top pharma companies and public and private life science companies to build partnerships that reduced fixed costs, increased development speed reduced operational risk, and optimized portfolio risk.
During this time, Quintiles became the recognized industry leader in creating and operating risk partnerships – forming more than 80 partnerships, managing over 2,000 FTEs, and investing more than $1 billion.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Gillooly was CEO of a venture-funded technology company, where he successfully completed multiple rounds of funding and moved the company through early-stage development to successful product launch. He was also a founding partner of a strategic investment group involved in an industry-wide rollup and has served as president or vice president of a number of private companies where he managed multiple acquisitions and management buyouts.
Mr. Gillooly earned his MBA from Duke University and a BS in Business Administration from St. Louis University.
